This project involved a fast-track renovation of an antiquated
blood services laboratory, product labeling area, refrigerated storage
space and collection suites. The 10,000-s.f. renovation enabled
the American Red Cross's Midwest facility to quickly comply with
new federal regulations and meet the growing demand to process blood
supply.
Facility components included donor collection, aphaeresis collection,
sample management, leukoreduction, labeling, quality control laboratory,
serology laboratory, general laboratory and product storage. Phased
renovation allowed the existing laboratory to remain in operation
continuously. |
