Our first project with Covance (previously Hazleton), a contract testing company, was a 158,000-s.f. addition and renovation. This project added 80,000-s.f. of toxicology space; necropsy facilities; procedural and setup rooms; and 35,000-s.f. of chemistry, environmental fate, metabolism, bioanalysis, biochemistry, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics laboratories.Service corridors link the laboratories and provide space for maintenance and storage of hazardous materials. Scientist’s offices are located outside of and adjacent to the laboratories, providing a comfortable and safe working environment.

Since this project, Strang designed several remodeling and new building projects, including a new swine research facility, a new 7,500-s.f. freezer building, a 30,000-s.f. remodeling of the chemistry and biopharmaceutical labs, stability chambers, low humidity chamber, HPLC lab, and an HIV testing lab.
