Strang to provide design
services for the Atrium at the Villager
MADISON, Wis. (4/24/2008)
– Strang, Inc. was recently selected by the Community Development
Authority (CDA) to provide design services for the Atrium at the
Villager, located on South Park Street in Madison, Wis.
Strang is developing plans for the first phase of the 30,000 square
foot Atrium, which will
house commercial retail space. The primary goal of the Redevelopment
Plan is to create
a vibrant group of health, service and education agencies, which
incorporates a
wholesome community-oriented retail component and areas for community
gatherings.
“We look forward to continuing our work with the CDA on the
Villager development,” said
Strang principal Larry Barton. “The Atrium at the Villager
project is an opportunity to
create an inviting community space.”
Schreiber Anderson & Associates will be the civil and landscape
design consultant and
Arnold & O’Sheridan will be the structural engineering
consultant.
The existing Villager Mall building was constructed as three separate
buildings (a
shopping mall, an insurance building and a bowling alley) and was
combined into a
single structure in the 1960s. The most recent renovation was in
the 1990s when the
bowling alley was converted into office space.
Established in Madison, Wis. in 1935, Strang, Inc.
is a full-service architecture, engineering and interior design
firm specializing in the design of optimal performance space for
commercial, research and development, biotechnology and higher education
industries.
