GE Medical Systems Lunar is the world's leading developer and manufacturer of innovative medical devices for the assessment of osteoporosis, metabolic bone diseases and orthopedic surgery. When this company encountered significant growth in personnel and operations, they turned to Strang to design a new facility that would meet existing and future space needs. The 167,000-s.f. facility faces southeast at the crest of a large incline to maximize views of the City of Madison and Lake Mendota.

This high-tech company wanted an environment that was warm and inviting, as well as high-tech. In the lobby, a balance of plants, wood and pavers create a comfortable, living room feel, while the use of stainless steel accents hints at GE Lunar's technical side.

Facility components include 97,000-s.f. of office space and 70,000-s.f. of manufacturing and warehouse space. Additional components include conference rooms and a spacious employee cafeteria that doubles as large meeting room space.
