Strang designed the 70,000 square foot vertical expansion of a tower and 120,000 square foot remodeling of the Center for Learning Resource on the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point campus. Strang’s innovative structural design solution involved extending the tower horizontally over the existing one-story structure on both sides. By reducing the number of floors required and eliminating the need for elevators and staff on each floor, Strang significantly reduced facility operations costs. And, by utilizing structural steel rather than concrete, we reduced project cost by approximately 20 percent.
