The 24,000 square foot renovation transformed an existing two-story shopping center into a library and public health office. The remodeled public health area includes offices, a clinic, reception area, public community space and library. Special attention was given to creating a humanistic, safe, and user-friendly environment that protects patient confidentiality, reflects the neighborhood culture, and supports collaboration among several departments. The facility features several shared amenities for the library, health department and general public, including a large meeting room, kitchenette, public restrooms and entrance corridor.
